Choose a Charger
Before installing a charger into your home, you'll need to decide what
kind of charger you want. The Level 1 charger, for example, takes between 40-50
hours to get a fully electric vehicle to a complete charge, and would therefore
be better for a driver who typically takes shorter drives. The Level 2 charger,
on the other hand, can charge an EV in between 4-10 hours, but requires a more
robust 240-volt outlet.
Pick the Location for Your Charger
When you pick a good location for your charger, you'll want to find
somewhere that is easily accessible for your vehicle close to your home's
electrical panel.
Install Your Charger
To install your charger, you'll want to hire an electrician to ensure
that this process is done safely and correctly. The electrician will likely
have to hook your charger up to your house's electrical system, and may have to
install new circuits and wiring.
