Choose a Charger
The first thing you'll want to do in order to charge your EV at home
is pick the charger that best suits your needs. The Level 1 charger can be
paired with a standard 120-volt charger and takes between 40-50 hours to bring
your fully-electric vehicle to a full charge. Because of this, it may be better
suited for a driver who typically takes short-haul drives. The Level 2 charger,
on the other hand, charges your vehicle in between 4-10 hours, and is perfect
for customers who like to take impromptu day trips to places like Manhattan
Beach and Redondo Beach.
Install Your Charging Port
Installing an EV charger can be done a couple different way. For a
Level 1 charger, simply connect the device to a standard household outlet. To
properly install a Level 2 charger, however, you will need the help of an
electrician, who will connect the device to your home's electrical
system.
Get Charging
Once your charger is properly installed, you can start the charging
process. Simply connect the charging plug to your EV's outlet, initiate
charging, sit back, and let your new device do the rest.
